Styles

Almost any type of specialized paperboard carton can be developed. Two basic carton styles—the Tray Style and the Tube Style—form the foundation for most designs.

Tray Style

Cartons are characterized by an uncreased, one piece paperboard bottom with side and end members hinged onto the central panel. Each side and end panel is connected to the adjacent wall member by a glued flap, hooked locking tab, friction lock or other similar device.

Tube Style

Cartons are made by folding the boxboard into a square or rectangle tube and gluing the overlapping flap. The end panels are hinged to the tube and fastened in numerous ways including tuck end, sealed end, and lock end closing devices.

Specialized Construction

This is a vast classification which includes every folding carton construction which does not fall into the tube or tray categories.
